It is reported that the famous scholar wished to be buried in Tabriz’s Poet’s Cemetery.

Prominent researcher and author of Varlıq magazine, Alireza Sarrafi, announced on social media that discussions with Iranian officials regarding the burial of Professor Javad Heyat, who passed away in Baku on August 12, were unsuccessful.

According to the statement, it was initially reported that Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani, had agreed to allow Javad Heyat to be buried in Tabriz. However, later, the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan informed the late scholar’s family that it would not be possible to transfer his body to Tabriz.
