Recently, the famous French playwright Jean Anouilh’s Antigone and the children’s puppet play Vızvızı and Qırmızı were staged in Turkish in Tabriz, while the puppet opera Leyli and Majnun was performed in Turkish in Tehran.
The play Antigone, translated from French into Turkish by the Tabriz-based writer and translator Ülkər Ucqar (Münirə Əkbərpuran), was adapted for the stage by director Ali Puriyan.
According to Mehr News Agency, Antigone will be performed at the Tabriz Theater until January 3.
The children’s puppet play Vızvızı and Qırmızı, directed by musician and director Ali Bernu, is currently being staged at the puppet theater.
This puppet play is currently being shown to kindergarten and school children. However, from December 24 to January 20, it will also be open to the general public.
The Leyli and Majnun puppet opera, which was first staged in Turkish in Tehran in May 2014, is now being performed again at Tehran’s Ferdowsi Hall. This production was directed by the renowned puppet theater master Behrouz Gharibpour.
Additionally, online newspapers have reported that director Amir Hijazi’s play Qachaq Nabi will soon be staged in Tabriz.
