L’Étranger has been published in Urmia as Yabançı and in Tabriz as Özgə
Recently, the famous novel L’Étranger by French writer Albert Camus has been translated into Azerbaijani Turkish by two different translators and published under different titles in Tabriz and Urmia.
According to the Bilim Sesi website, the translation of the novel by Urmia-based writer Hussein Vahidi was published under the title Yabancı by the Buta publishing house in the city.
In Tabriz, Camus' novel was translated into Turkish as Özgə by writer Mohammad Rahmanifar and published as well.
Albert Camus' novel, which was previously translated into Azerbaijani as Yad and Yabancı in the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkey, was written in 1942. The novel has been published in many languages and has also inspired several films, including the 2001 Turkish film Yazgı.
