The flogging sentence was carried out in Ardabil prison.
Five ethnic activists, sentenced by the Iranian Revolutionary Court to three months in prison and 30 lashes on charges of "disrupting public order and peace," had their 30-lash sentence executed recently in Ardabil prison.
The Human Rights Activists (HRA) agency, which monitors human rights conditions in Iran, reported.
Mustafa Parvin, Saleh Piçqanlı, Tovhid Amir Amini, Murtaza Parvin, and Meysam Jolani were transferred to Ardabil prison in the first days of April to serve their prison sentences and undergo the flogging.

According to a document addressed to Ardabil prison, despite the order for the 30 lashes to be carried out on the day the three-month prison term ended, the sentence was executed in the early days after the activists arrived at the prison.
According to HRA, court representatives supervised the execution of the flogging sentence.
The five activists were detained by Iran’s security forces on September 10 of the previous year during a football match at Takhti Stadium in Ardabil. They were temporarily released on bail, but months later, they were tried for chanting "ethnic and nationalist slogans" during the match, leading to charges of "disrupting public order and peace."
According to a report by South Azerbaijan Television, during the match, spectators raised banners supporting prominent political prisoner Abbas Lisani and other political prisoners, and chanted national slogans.
Tovhid Amir Amini, Saleh Piçqanlı, and Meysam Jolani were also sentenced to an additional three months and one day in prison for participating in the mass "anti-racism" protests held in Azerbaijan regions last November. Their total prison sentence is six months and one day.
