Form to Join the Turkish Regions Faction

The Turkish Regions Faction has been formed in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament).

According to the House of Representatives news agency, the faction was established on Monday under the leadership of Masoud Pezeshkian, with 25 members of Parliament forming its central council.

Zahra Saei, the representative of Tabriz, Azarshahr, and Usku in the 10th Parliament, told the House of Representatives news agency that the faction was created to address the economic, social, and educational issues of the Turkish-speaking regions.

This member of the Parliamentary Social Committee added that the faction aims to present the problems of the Turkish regions to various committees, so that, as she stated, legal gaps or oversight issues can be addressed.

During his presidential campaign, Hassan Rouhani had emphasized the importance of respecting the rights of ethnic groups, religions, and minorities in Iran in his 10-point statement.
