The South Azerbaijan Blog is dedicated to exploring and amplifying the experiences of minoritized Turkish communities in South Azerbaijan and Iran. By addressing broader issues of ethnicity, language, power, and marginalization, we aim to provide a platform for the voices of marginalized communities, allowing open discussions on critical issues. Our mission is to create awareness, advocate for social justice, and contribute to both academic and public discourse by sharing diverse perspectives.

Through our blog, we aim to provide valuable insights to our community members in South or Iranian Azerbaijan and to those in the diaspora. We also offer a space for journalists, writers, academics, and students who seek to understand the social, cultural, economic, and political conditions of Iran’s ethnic and linguistic minorities, especially the Turkish community. Our platform sheds light on power relations and marginalization experienced by these groups, addressing issues rarely covered by mainstream media or academic circles in Iran.

We aim to promote an inclusive society by encouraging dialogue on diversity and justice. By exposing these topics, we build understanding and envision peace through the recognition, celebration, and inclusion of our differences in the world we create and can imagine together.
