An environmental disaster is unfolding in northwest Iran, in the Azerbaijan region, as Lake Urmia, once the largest lake in the Middle East, rapidly dries up.
Water mismanagement, a lack of rainfall, and the construction of a nearby dam are contributing factors.
The government has proposed 19 solutions to try to save Lake Urmia.
