In Iran, every year, Azerbaijani Turk civil and political activists would gather around Sattar Khan's grave, the National Commander and a pivotal figure in the Iranian Constitutional Revolution, located at the Shah-Abdulazim mosque in the south of Tehran, to hold a peaceful event in commemoration of his death anniversary. Despite facing pressures, arrests, risks, and threats, they continued to organize this gathering. However, since 2007, the Iranian government has been preventing this event.
Sattar Khan, the National Leader and Symbol of Resistance, continues to inspire progressive minds in Azerbaijan. His leadership in the Iranian Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911) left a lasting legacy in the fight for justice, freedom, and people's rights. Born in Azerbaijan, his courage in opposing autocracy and imperialism resonates with those advocating for social justice, democracy, and political independence, embodying the spirit of resistance against oppression.
