On April 20, 2024, a ceremony was held for the opening of the Women’s Works Book House, established by cultural activists in Tabriz.
The Women’s Works Book House was founded with the initiative of the El Bilimi institution, which operates in Iranian Azerbaijan, and with the support of cultural activists, in the central building of the El Bilimi institution in Tabriz.
According to a post shared on the Elbilimi Telegram channel, "the book house started its activities with approximately 650 books in Turkish and Persian languages, donated by a group of cultural activists, including female writers and translators."
The opening ceremony was attended by writers and cultural activists such as Faranek Farid, Ruqayya Kabiri, Alireza Sarrafi, Ulduz Sadiq, Zakiyeh Zulfikari, Hassan Moradi, Marjan Manafzadeh, and Ziba Manuchehri.
A video shared on the Elbilimi Telegram channel shows Alireza Sarrafi, a representative of the El Bilimi institution, providing statements about the book house. Sarrafi mentioned that the book house, dedicated to the works of female creators, will grow as it continues its activities.
According to Mr. Sarrafi, the Women's Works Library in Istanbul inspired the idea of creating the book house.
