The Tabriz Brothers' Film Wins Award at Cannes Festival's Fund

The Ark brothers were awarded the second prize in the Cinéfondation Selection.

Tabriz directors, twin brothers Bahram and Bahman Ark, have been honored with the second prize in the Cinéfondation Selection, a fund of the Cannes Film Festival.

Young directors from film schools around the world had the opportunity to compete in the Cinéfondation Selection with their short and medium-length films.

The jury announced the winners of the 20th Cinéfondation Selection on May 26.

According to the information posted on the fund's website, Valentina Murel from Belgium won first place with her film "Pol is Here", the Ark brothers secured second place with "Heyvan" (The Animal), and French director Tomaso Usberti earned third place with "Two Young Men Are Dead".

According to the published information, the Tabriz twins will receive a prize worth 11,250 euros, and Heyvan will be screened again at the Cinéma du Panthéon theater in Paris.

Heyvan tells the story of a man attempting to cross the border and leave the country. The film features no dialogue.

Bahram and Bahman Ark have previously made a feature film in Turkish, Soyuq (Cold).
