In Tabriz, security forces raided the home of Iranian Azerbaijani poet and writer Nigar Khiyavi.

Nigar Khiyavi's brother, Rahim Khiyavi, reported the attack on his sister's home by the security forces on his Instagram page on August 14.

Intelligence agents confiscated some of Nigar Khiyavi's books and her mobile phone.

On August 15, it was reported that Nigar Khiyavi was summoned to the Intelligence Department, interrogated for several hours, and then released.

Rahim Khiyavi expressed concern for his sister's health, noting that she suffers from heart disease and that he is worried about her well-being under the control of the security forces.

Another Iranian Azerbaijani writer, Rüqayyə Kəbiri, was also summoned by security forces and interrogated at the Intelligence Department’s detention center.

The summons and interrogation of these writers are believed to be linked to a protest by a group of women in front of the East Azerbaijan Governor's Office for the revival of Lake Urmia.

On August 14, women in Tabriz staged a protest in front of the East Azerbaijan Governor's Office, demanding the revival of Lake Urmia. Earlier, on August 12, Azerbaijani women gathered in front of the Department of Natural Resources and Water Basins in Tabriz for a protest.

It is suspected that many of the women who protested in front of the East Azerbaijan Governor's Office for the rescue of Lake Urmia were summoned and threatened by intelligence agents. No further information has been released on this yet.
